The Stroke Association have recently launched A new era for stroke campaign, calling on the Government to renew the national stroke strategy.
From an earlier stroke survey, over 45% of stroke survivors said that they feel abandoned once they leave hospital as their care gets worse and the physical impact of stroke is the hardest to deal with.
The current ten year national strategy is ending and there are no plans to renew it. This campaign aims to secure a commitment from Department of Health and NHS England to develop a new national stroke strategy and to bring attention to stroke.
To enable this, the Stroke Association have raised a petition calling for better support.
